When Mitchell Communication Group, Australia's largest independent communications group recently upgraded their premises to a newly constructed building on Stirling Hwy Nedlands, they wanted a design solution that would reflect the dynamic, innovative and driven team they pride themselves on being.

Specializing in media planning, buying, digital media and marketing, branded entertainment and public relations, the Mitchell philosophy endorses collaboration; the free flow of knowledge and ideas; creativity and individuality.

With this firmly in mind Habitat 1 ensured that each separate space that makes up the Mitchell Perth office features design aspects to epitomize these philosophies.

The stylish Reception Area makes an immediate impression upon any visitors to the Mitchell Communication Group through the combination of mixed floor treatments, timber veneer paneling, sleek Barcelona seats and the unique, layered finish reception desk.

The open plan work spaces clearly emulates the company's way of thinking through the deliberate use of podded workstations with a screen height and style that encourages interaction between team members.

The entire space encapsulates a fresh and contemporary feel through the selection of a stimulating yet harmonious colour palette. Fine lineal patterns in screen upholstery coupled with the grain of a timber veneer create a subtle sense of movement and is well contrasted against stronger block colours such as those featured in the glass splash backs in the breakout, tea preparation and boardroom bar areas, and the charcoal floor treatments.

Office storage is always important. Storage options incorporated in the Mitchell design are varied in nature, once again to create an interesting, layered feel, however their streamlined profiles and refined finishes ensure the overall impression created is sleek, professional and directional.
